Installation and adjustment methods of low noise bearings

Due to design, manufacturing, management, and other reasons, bearings inevitably generate vibration and sound during operation. The noise of bearings not only affects the quality of use, but also brings a lot of trouble to mechanical equipment. And bearing noise is inevitable, so many people choose to use low noise bearings when selecting bearings. Is the installation and adjustment of low noise bearings the same as usual bearings?
1. The installation and adjustment of low-noise bearings can also follow the grouping method of long-life bearings, making the size of the fit interference consistent and the clearance of the bearings consistent. It is hoped that the fit interference can be taken as small as possible to ensure that the deformation of the bearing raceway is small, thereby reducing the noise caused by the rolling element passing through.
2. The relationship between clearance and noise is significant, and the ideal state is that when the imported bearing is in the operating temperature state, the clearance value is exactly zero. The methods to determine excessive clearance include: the static state causes axial displacement, and the amplitude of its reciprocating motion is relatively large, producing large and heavy noise during operation.
3. If there is a annoying sharp howling sound during operation, it indicates that the pre tightening of the bearing is too large, and there is a large pre interference in the bearing. The pre tightening should be slightly relaxed. If the clearance is too large, it can cause the two bearing rings to be slightly offset along the axial direction: it reduces the clearance and increases the axial rigidity, which can reduce bearing noise.
4. When the rolling element enters the unloaded area, it will slip or move left and right, which not only increases noise but also causes wear. Small clearance and large axial stiffness can eliminate this phenomenon. But the clearance should not be too small to avoid excessive temperature and shortened service life.
5. Sometimes, due to the large operating temperature range of the host machine or the large dispersion of the size between the shaft and the seat hole, it is not possible to obtain a suitable clearance in one adjustment. In this case, the outer ring of the bearing can be pre tightened using an elastic constant pressure method.
The application of low noise bearings is becoming increasingly widespread, and the requirements for them are also becoming increasingly stringent. In China, the previous emphasis was mainly on vibration level, but later added peak control. For bearings with low noise requirements, appropriate improvements should be made to the internal structure design of the bearings. However, no matter what structure is chosen, the vibration and sound caused by the rotation of the bearing itself cannot be avoided. A reasonable structure can only reduce the vibration and sound that occur at the natural frequency of the thin-walled bearing to a certain extent.
